One remote fails
If another remote or the wall control still operates the door, the problem may be isolated to the transmitter, battery, programming or compatibility.
Useful detail: which other controls still work?
No controls operate it
Power supply, opener electronics, controls, wiring or another system fault may be involved. Confirm whether the opener has power without opening its housing.
Useful detail: lights, sounds or diagnostic indicators.
Door opens but will not close
Safety-reversing sensors, an obstruction, wiring or model-specific travel behaviour may be involved. Sensor systems should not be bypassed.
Useful detail: sensor LEDs and opener light behaviour.
Door closes, then reverses
Check the closing path for an obvious obstruction. Sensor alignment, travel setup or resistance from the door itself can also require diagnosis.
Useful detail: where in the travel the reversal happens.
Motor runs but door barely moves
The issue may be inside the opener drive system, at the trolley connection, or with the mechanical door. A heavy door can also point to spring failure rather than an opener fault.
Useful detail: unusual noise and whether the door is level.
Keypad works inconsistently
Batteries, programming, compatibility, keypad condition or communication with the opener may need to be checked.
Useful detail: whether remotes and wall controls work normally.
